Message from The Director of Summer Programs
March 12, 2015
Dear Parents and Students,
Summer 2015 is quickly approaching and we are excited to offer an expanded menu of camps and classes for students of all ages. Selecting the right summer experience for your child can be very challenging, and we understand the importance of providing enrichment while also having fun during the summer months. The goal of The Benjamin School Summer Program is to provide students with summer experiences that include opportunities for academic enrichment and exploration, as well as enjoyable and challenging athletic and camp experiences. While we offer courses for Upper School credit, our continuing focus is to provide experiences that push students to grow intellectually, physically, socially and morally.
Academic Enrichment courses (not for credit) and our wide variety of camps are designed to expose students to a complement of ideas and skills that are not found in most elementary or middle school curricula. Students are encouraged to explore existing interests and discover new ones. These experiences are designed to be enjoyable, stimulate discussion and curiosity, and help students develop a lifelong love of learning.
Some of our new offerings for Summer 2015 include:
- Makers Camp (Engineering) for Girls - girls entering grades 5-9
- Lego Robotics - students entering grades 3-6
- Personal Wellness Credit Class - students entering grades 9-10
- Cheerleading Camp - now a full day camp (9:00-3:00)
- Spanish Prep & Review - students entering grades 6-12
