BTV News Strikes Gold

In what has become an annual announcement, Upper School Director of Multimedia Productions Ken Archer shared The Florida Scholastic Press Association awarded the upper school’s broadcast program, BTV News, a Gold Medal for its September 17th newscast. 

“This designation recognizes Benjamin’s Broadcast Program as one of the top programs in the state,” Archer said. “We earned Gold across the board in all categories including: On-Air presence, writing, technical excellence, and coverage.”

Judges commented on everything from “the professional looking set,” to the graphics, quality of the writing, and the professionalism of the anchors and reporters. 

“This is the smallest crew BTV has ever had (six students) and they knocked it out of the park,” Archer said.
