Each year, I am humbled by my vantage point on stage in Benjamin Hall, announcing the year’s graduating class.
Each year, without fail, the breadth and depth of talent feels unmatched. And it’s with tremendous gratitude that I look out at the faces of parents who have lent their most precious possessions to us and partnered with the school on their children’s educational journeys.
The entire Benjamin community has been inspired by the Class of 2023’s Buccaneer spirit. As freshman, their spring semester was upended by the pandemic, and the rest of their high school career was spent navigating the uncertainty and change that accompanied this new decade. This group of students was not deterred and demonstrated the gratification earned from working hard, working together, and working for something larger than oneself.
My sincerest hope is that this cohort, like all graduates, remembers that Benjamin is eager to continue supporting them in their growth.
As our matriculation list bears out - you can truly go Benjamin, then go anywhere.
Those “anywheres” look different for each of our students, and this year it includes best fits from MIT to Duke, Harvey Mudd to Wake Forest, Ivy Leagues and state Universities.
Beginning in middle school, Benjamin students reap the benefits of a tight-knit relationship with our college counseling department that allows them to explore which college or university would best serve their unique personality, interests, and future aspirations.
As is true in life, there is no “one size fits all.” While the possibilities are endless, the unique match and fit is of paramount importance.
I am perennially excited each Spring to see where these “anywheres” take our graduates.
To the Class of 2023, whose “anywheres” are boundless, I hope you know you can always return “here;” your original alma mater.
Go Bucs!
