Speech & Debate Team Celebrates Competition Success
The upper school Speech and Debate team is celebrating their success at the Florida Civics and Debate Initiative Tournament the weekend of January 12.
FCDI aims to create “access and opportunities for all students to have the best civics education including curriculum, debate programs, and high-quality teachers that are catalysts for students becoming great citizens who can preserve our constitutional republic for future generations,” according to the organization’s website.
Of the 405 Florida schools and 3,406 students who are members of the organization, Benjamin took home the highest honors conferred by the competition, sweeping the “Varsity” category for Impromptu Speaking.

Students now have the opportunity to participate in Yale Model United Nations next week.
