National Honor Society Welcomes New Inductees

The Benjamin School’s chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed new members during a Spring ceremony in Benjamin Hall on February 27. The ceremony, steeped in tradition as old as the school’s founding, celebrates academic excellence, personal integrity, and a commitment to service.

"We're thrilled to be able to recognize such a large group of students who have pushed themselves inside and outside the classroom to achieve great things," said Head of School Dave Faus, emphasizing the importance of a well-rounded Benjamin school education. 

The Benjamin chapter of NHS traces its roots back to 1978, coinciding with the school’s inaugural graduating senior class. Since then, the organization has continued to reflect the school’s longstanding tradition of excellence. 

President Mattias Saiz led the candlelight ceremony and spoke about the significance of each pillar of NHS - Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Knowledge. These pillars serve as guiding principles for the organization, and as Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr said, echo the values instilled at Benjamin. 

The inductees, who were elected by a faculty council of five, were chosen for their balanced commitment to the five pillars of NHS.  

Congratulations to the newly inducted members of NHS who carry forward the light of academic excellence, leadership, and character.
