Junior Violinist Earns 'Superior' Ranking at State Competition
Junior violinist Emma Eidelman competed at the State Solo and Ensemble competition at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, Florida, on March 29 where she received a "Superior" rating, the highest available rating, for performing J.S. Bach's Sonata No. 1 in G Minor: Adagio.
In order to qualify for State, Emma first had to earn at least a "Superior" rating at the District level. She went one step further and earned a "Superior with Distinction" rating for playing her solo from memory at District. Out of several hundred students across Florida who competed at the District level, only 250 qualified for State.
"Emma's hard work and dedication has honed her fine musical skills that are already beyond her years, making for a promising and bright future for this young and talented violinist," said upper school music director Dr. Ian Henderson.
