A record-setting number of 220 Benjamin singers, dancers and instrumentalists entertained TBS audiences with a spectacular musical review at the 2016 Benjamin School Variety Show. Colors of the World featured a talented cast of students, faculty, parents and alumni at the 20th annual production staged for the first time in Benjamin Hall.
The January 16 matinee and evening audiences enjoyed traveling the world through music and dance with lively narration showcased on the theatre's giant side screens by upper school drama students and faculty member Tom Bazar. The dazzling cast included superb performances by the middle and upper school dance teams, the upper school band, chorus and chamber ensemble, student/faculty/parent vocal, dance, and instrumental groups, PFP and the lower and middle school cast of The Lion King.
Variety Show guests were also treated to breathtaking vocal performances by alumnae Jill Nicklaus '89, Alix Paige '04, and Maddy Apple '07 as well as violinist Riley Burke '14. A stunning exhibit of division-wide artwork created by lower, middle and upper school visual art students was also featured for guests in the theatre lobby.
Congratulations to Variety Show Chair Sherie Katz '83, Artistic Director Sara Salivar and the entire cast and crew for a magnificent production!
