December brings many of my favorite TBS traditions, including the Kindergarten Show and Upper School Holiday Assembly. It’s always a treat to see Mrs. Arnn and the Kindergarten teachers organize a musical event that honors so many special holidays. Watching the students sing and dance is almost as fun as watching their parents juggle cameras and phones between waves to their child. Students and teachers at the Upper School shared personal stories about their family holiday traditions, and you can really see the vast diversity in our community. The faculty’s dance moves brought lots of laughs and some much needed lightheartedness to a busy week of exam preparations.
I had the pleasure of announcing 4th grader Isabella Giovenetti as the winner of our holiday card contest. This year, students incorporated the BASH theme “Out of this World”, and I loved seeing the intergalactic pieces from our artists.
A final highlight was the Gingerbread Man Hunt. I was lucky enough to hand out the final clue to a group of students who had been scouring campus to find the Gingerbread Man. This year ended with a new, modern twist: the mischievous cookie escaping in a drone.
