Opening Bell Heralds Start Of New School Year

The energy was palpable Tuesday morning on both campuses as students embarked on their first day of the 2024-2025 school year. Eager Buccaneers navigated their way through morning drop-off, eager to meet their new teachers and classmates, bolstered by the excitement of new beginnings.

New Head of Lower School Margaret Granados said welcoming students through their first day of car line was met with a variety of reactions as their car doors opened.

" ... Apprehension, enthusiasm, you name it.  The amazing thing - and a real testament to The Benjamin School plan for education and the engaging manner and stellar efforts of our teachers - is that even by midday students were buzzing, happily busy, making friends old and new, and cheerfully doing interesting school work.  Just a few hours into a new school year and you could just tell things were well and truly launched," Granados said.

The school enjoyed a robust admissions season, welcoming 1,316 students and 177 new students to the Benjamin community from across the country.

“We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to campus and excited to introduce some new faces to both campuses,” Assistant Director of Enrollment Management Andrew Marsiglio said. “We hope their journey at TBS is a successful one. Go Bucs!”

Head of School Dave Faus said Benjamin is positioned for another promising year filled with memorable moments and exciting opportunities.

Granados said the day ended on a high note, with students excited to embark on their new year.

"At dismissal I asked one of our youngest students, a member of our WOW program, the big question: 'Are you coming back tomorrow?'  He beamed and without hesitation said, 'Not only am I coming back, but I'm letting my lovie come back too!'  Now that's high praise, indeed," she said.
