Seniors Co-Author Children's Book

Seniors Sage Sorenson and Fletcher Kaneb traveled to the lower school campus to read their children’s book “Carmelito the Chameleon” to Benjamin Kindergarten and third grade students.

Kaneb said the book's inspiration dates back to a conversation with Spanish Club advisor Señora Gonzalez-Lopez who shared a list of potential club initiatives he could undertake as club president.

"One of which was creating a Spanish book! While the book is bilingual (English and Spanish), that is where the idea originated," he said.

The younger Bucs were intrigued not only by the story of Carmelito, but by the process of becoming a published author.

Kindergarten teacher Lisa Glogower said the visit was a highlight for her students and a wonderful opportunity to see the boundless opportunities available to Benjamin students.

The morning was equally memorable for Sorenson and Kaneb who had the chance to read in both of their former Kindergarten teachers classrooms!
