Congratulations to our Girls Soccer Team who won the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP! The team defeated Episcopal (Jacksonville) 1-0 in the championship. Freshman Emma Bartoli had the only goal of the game.
“The girls soccer team showed tremendous grit and perseverance after starting the beginning of the season with a few losses,” said Athletic Director Ryan Smith ‘93. “They then went on an incredible winning streak capturing the district, regional and state titles. The team was loaded with talent from 8th grade up to 12th grade.”
Smith said the senior leadership on the team was “outstanding,” with many of the student-athletes participating in the program since they were in middle school.
“We are so happy for the seniors, head coach Hillary Carney, and assistant coach Jennifer Fischenich. They all have worked so incredibly hard over many years culminating in a state championship,” said Smith. “Go Bucs!”
