• Do I capitalize Board when referring to the Board of Trustees?

  Yes

• Do I capitalize Upper School, Middle School or Lower School?

  Yes:  when they stand alone or are naming a campus (i,e., Upper School Campus)

• Do I use italics or quotation marks?

  Italics:  Titles of newspapers, magazines, books, radio and television programs, plays, movies ballets, musicals and oratories

  Quotation marks:  Titles of articles and songs

• Do the following acronyms need periods to separate letters?

  No periods needed for BASH, ACE, SOAR, TBS, WOW, NAIS, FCIS

• How do I refer to the three and four year-old classes?

  PK3, PK4

• How do I write the time?

  11:00 a.m.

• How many typing spaces are needed after the period in running sentences?

  One

• Is the th used when referring to December the eighth?

  No th – write as December 8

• Where do I place quotation marks at the end of a sentence?

  After the punctuation mark (i.e. …to the school.”) 

  No:  when used as an adjective phrase (i.e.,The upper school students held a meeting in Benjamin Hall.)
